Banner Advertising

Ah, the glory days of the animated GIF.

My department at, the Production Department, was responsible for creating banner ads, both for and its clients.

At first, much of this work was a result of overrun from the Creative Department, and often had to be completed on breakneck deadlines. I needed to train the artists in my department to do this work, teaching them, for example, how to use ImageReady to animate GIFs.

Before long, my department became so good at doing these banners that we became responsible for all such work, and two of the artists I had trained were promoted to Art Directors in the Creative Department.
